This is the title of the topic of a round table discussion that I will facilitate next Monday afternoon at a monthly gathering I call the Brand Cafe. Each month brand professionals and enthusiasts meet to exchange experiences on topics related to brand. I founded the group in response to the need to do so. For some Facebook is almost old school, for others it is now a primary part of their branding strategy and for others it is a very new social marketing tool.
Earlier in the month a fellow Brand Cafe attendee and I led a seminar on brand positioning and internal branding. The place was packed, in large part due to our promotion of the event on Facebook. By design, we did not use any traditional ways of marketing the event. The result? The largest attendance this year of the professional development series for the American Marketing Association Colorado.
So, if you are not on Facebook, Linked In, MySpace and other social media, is your brand invisible? If you do not have an image are you invisible? I say yes! Facebook is one of the most effective ways to recruit and retain your brand champions.
