Brand Champion of the Day- Yao Ming, China Olympic Basketball Team

During the next few weeks, I thought it would be appropriate to recognize and reward brand champions of the 2008 Beijing Olympics. There is not a better example of what it means to be a brand champion than Yao Ming. He is a champion of his country, basketball team, the NBA and humanitarian work.

I am not sure if there have been too many, if any, athletes who have been chosen to be the flag bearer during the opening ceremonies of the Olympic Games, but Yao has been in both Athens and Beijing. It was great to see him leading his nation of athletes into the Bird's Nest, along with a 9 year of survivor of the devastating China earthquake. Do you know that he donated $2 million dollars of his own money to help with relief efforts? For all you do, and what you stand for, Yao Ming, you are the Brand Champion of the Day!
